As an institution providing world-class medical training, RCC has achieved academic recognition from both the academic fraternity and the community. It has excelled not only in teaching the practice of oncology but also in developing outstanding clinicians who are passionate about research, innovation, clinical practice and leadership.

The academic affairs at RCC are under the leadership of the Additional Director (Academic), who is responsible for all aspects of planning, development and review of academic policies.

While patient care is of prime importance at the Regional Cancer Centre, research and education are key components of RCC's mission. The RCC, since its inception in 1981, has focused on Cancer Research, both applied and fundamental research.

All the academic and clinical activities are supported by a state-of-the-art research and reference library.
